KCW (PSGR Krishnammal College for Women), inaugurated in June 1963 under the aegis of the GRG Trust of Coimbatore has grown over the last six decades into a temple of learning and academic excellence. Founded on a motto of ‘empowering through education’, the ‘women-only’ KCW symbolizes knowledge, love, and service. KCW is an autonomous college of higher education for women. It is affiliated to the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, ranked #4 among colleges in India in NIRF, accredited with the highest A++ grade by NAAC, and a UGC-certified ‘College of Excellence’. The programme was established in 1987 and is the only programme offered under Government Aided stream exclusively for women in Tamil Nadu. The department imparts conceptual and analytical skills, provides application of theoretical knowledge to solve economic, social, and business problems through blended learning via innovative teaching methods/aids and delivers internationally validated curriculum. The department assists students to become successful entrepreneurs/leaders and develops their business acumen to match the industry requirements. The department has bagged ‘Best Department Award’ consecutively for the past seven years at the institution level for the outstanding performance in Teaching, Research and Co-curricular activities. The programme focuses on the emerging areas such as design thinking, innovation, business analytics & intelligence; provides hands-on training in financial modeling and offers skill based courses in tie up with TCS. The programme provides the opportunity for the students to learn various aspects of management and apply the core concepts in relevant social and business contexts through internships and projects.
