Short Bio:

Sanjunega is well-mannered, respects her elders and appreciates others viewpoint. She strives to give in her best in all her undertakings which was reflected when she was rewarded with the ‘High Achievers Award’ for her academic excellence. Her participation in class presentations, role-plays among her peer group and enthusiastic contribution to group discussions, showcases that Sanjunega has a proclivity towards English Language. She stands popular in her group with her fun-loving attitude and helping nature.

Sanjunega has a caring side too which is reflected in her active contribution and participation in various social causes like; campaigning for ‘Save the Girl Child’ and ‘Education for All’. Her interest to preserve nature was seen as a founder member of the Eco Club, which has been sincerely contributing to spread greenery in and around the school campus and the local community, emphasizing on the implementation of natural fresh air resources in closed door rooms in the school. She did justice to her role as Deputy Director General for SIMUN where her organizational skills and her innate qualities as a team person were put to test. Her debating and diplomatic skills were exhibited in IIMUN held at Coimbatore.

Drawing has been her passion from a young age. She has been an active participant in all the drawing competitions and exhibitions where her charts and drawings were displayed. Sanjunega’s commitment to develop her passion has enrolled her to practice it professionally for the past 2 years. She has designed and implemented “billing software” for the “Cascade” restaurant at Coimbatore.

The Sushant School of Art & Architecture (SSAA) was established in 1989 by Chiranjiv Charitable Trust, a premier voluntary organization devoted to the cause of education. In the last 25 years, SSAA has established itself as one of the top three architectural institutes in the Indian subcontinent (as per the EUMD India List of Top Architectural Institutes in India by the British Council). The school is recognized by the ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA).

The five year undergraduate programme in Architecture aims at attaining a high level of excellence in architectural design, supported by lateral inputs from other subjects. The students are exposed to a wide range of regular subjects and elective courses to equip them with the knowledge and skills required to deal with the regional, climatic, economic, technological and socio-cultural diversity of India, and the need for evolved solutions that are unique to their context. To stimulate sensitivity and unveil creative talents. To reinforce intellectual capabilities and develop proficiency in professional skills to enable graduates to completely pursue alternative careers within the broad spectrum of architecture.

Each year of study at the school concentrates on a thematic base, addressed programmatically in the design studio and supported by theoretical understanding and related technological knowledge. Rural and urban settlement, social housing, community structure and cultural fabric, urban process and architecture of the city are some of the themes, connected with each other at various levels of the five year of study. The three pillars of sustainability (environmental, social and economic) form the underlying principle of learning at the school: a common thread through the years. Students are encouraged to develop their individual design approach with an understanding of making of architecture through the analysis of history of ideas, theories and cultural agendas, which constitute the base for an architectural outcome of a particular time. Faith in creative architecture thereof gets linked with the historical continuum in order to reinforce the process of introspection.
