Navin is one of the unique student of 2017-2018 IBDP batch. Though academic success was not his forte, he compensated it with his penchant for sports and extra-curricular activities. He displayed great level of maturity as a student and constantly strived to overcome his obstacles. He was noted for his lofty ambitions in life and was determined to reach his Goal. A vibrant and joyful personality who was influential in diffusing students pressure.

Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai, established in the year 1995 by MJF.Ln.Leo Muthu, Chairman of Sapthagiri Educational Trust, is a non-profitable, and non-minority institution. A well defined vision, highly committed mission and dedicated leadership facilitate Sri Sairam Engineering College to be in the best of educational institutions in the country. Civil Engineering is the mother of all branches of Engineering. The principal educational objective of our department is to Excel in the fundamentals of mathematics, basic sciences, communication and Civil Engineering concepts to solve the real world Civil Engineering problems by imparting sound technical knowledge. Compete professionally with suitable and modern technological skills in the field of research and higher studies. Realize and practice ethical, environmental and professional responsibilities for sustainable development of society and nation. Exhibit strong leadership quality, eagerness for lifelong continuous learning to adopt themselves in Civil Engineering domain.

Department of Civil Engineering was established in the academic year 2007 – 2008 with an intake of 60. Subsequently, the intake was increased to 120 in the year 2010.The department has 24 highly qualified faculty members and 5 non-teaching staff members. The department is equipped with fully established laboratories such as Soil Engineering Laboratory, Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Survey Laboratory, CADD Lab, Fluid Mechanics Laboratory and Strength of Materials Laboratory. The Association of Civil Engineers is regularly organizing seminars, guest lectures and industrial visits for the benefit of student community. Our Department has been a member of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) with effect from October 2016.
