Chandiya Devi

University of Edinburgh - Bachelor of Engineering

Short Bio:

Chandiya has always been a hardworking and sincere student who exhibits a profound interest in understanding concepts. The IBDP is a course that requires a high degree of self-autonomy from the student’s side and I have witnessed her tenacity to complete all given tasks within the given deadline first hand. Her mini-dissertation (an original 4000 word academic document called Extended Essay) based on Mathematics was also well received by the IB. In the process of completing her dissertation, she has displayed highly satisfactory research skills that include critical thinking, application of relevant theories, effective citation and a deep understanding of the subject.

This is a general entry route where students would take classes in 3 of the 4 disciplines offered in semester 1 of first year. At the end of semester 1, students studying the H100 would choose which discipline they wish to study in having had an opportunity to study 3 of the 4 available.

Although the programme appears as BEng General Engineering on UCAS and in the University Prospectus, it is worth noting a student cannot graduate with this degree, it is only an entry route.
