The traditional models of teaching ‘Visual Communication’ or ‘Communication Design’ have always looked at & treated its ‘Components’ such as Graphic Design, Film and Video, Animation as stand-alone entities. However, in the current context, especially, when it comes to ‘using’ these components, they are never ‘stand-alone’; instead they are used in a mix-n-match manner- that too in various technology platforms – leading to a better ‘visual & Interaction experience’. Thus, it is important to understand the ‘nature & purpose of communications’ and ‘the platform (i.e. the media)’ on which an effective communication takes place. In such a perspective, while the attempt will be to take the students through the journey of ‘making an effective communication through desired ‘platform / media’, they will also have an opportunity to specialize in their desired domains’
