Dr G R DAMODARAN COLLEGE OF SCIENCE (Autonomous) , affiliated to the BHARATHIAR UNIVERSITY, Coimbatore and recognized by the UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION is a highly regarded Co-educational Institution offering Degree, Post Graduate, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes in Management, Computer Science and Information Technology, Biotechnology, Visual and Mass Communication, Commerce and International Business, and Tamil literature, etc.

It was started in 1988, and within a span of 2 decades it had registered exceptional progress.The NAAC is a statutory body set up by the UGC for assessing and rating the Universities and Colleges in India so as to help them identify and overcome weaknesses and deficiencies and motivate them towards quality enhancement. Dr. GRDCS (Autonomous) put its claims for high Overall Quality and Superior Performance (in the pursuit of excellence) beyond question by obtaining recognition including the Re-accreditation at the ‘A’ GRADE Level rating by the NAAC (NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL).

The Department also offers the one-year part-time course in Advertising and Marketing Management and Human Resource Management leading to the Post Graduate Diplomas of the college. Add on courses leading to the Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes recognized by the University are also offered along with the UG and PG Degree courses.

The Department functions in its own building with spacious well-furnished classrooms, computer centre, auditorium, AV room and other facilities. The department has networked itself with a wide diversity of resource centres, which could provide inputs of vital importance to the Commerce and International business curriculum. These include agencies involved in Import and Export, Banking, Customs, Excise, Supply chain Management, Strategic Management, Foreign Exchange Management, Brand Management etc.
