The Department offers Undergraduate Programme (B.E) in Mechanical Engineering and Postgraduate Programmes (M.E.) in Engineering Design, CAD/CAM, and Industrial Safety Engineering and Ph.D. programmes. The Department has highly qualified faculty members, out of those, one third are Ph.D. qualified. The Department obtained a funding of Rs. 1.20 Crores from various government agencies for research and development. The Department aims to develop Centers of Excellence in Industrial Pumps in collaboration with Aquasub Pumps, Coimbatore and Product Development Research Centre by Harita Tech Serve Ltd., Chennai.
