Short Bio:

Abhishek is popular among his peer group as he is fun-loving and tolerant by nature. Passionate about music, he has won the silver medal at the Youth festival held in Singapore as a Carnatic vocalist and Carnatic violinist. He loves to experiment with cooking. Proud of his mother tongue, he had chaired the Tamil committee as its Director during SIMUN Chapter 3.

KMCH Institute of Health Sciences, Coimbatore is one of the most sought after medical colleges in the state. Established in 2019 under the aegis of Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital Ltd., it currently has an annual intake is 150 students in its MBBS degree course. The college is approved for an annual intake of 150 students for the MBBS course. The admissions for the MBBS Course at KMCHIHSR is through the Tamil Nadu State Counseling for MBBS Admission conducted by the Selection Committee, Directorate Of Medical Education, Chennai. The MBBS course starts with the basic pre and para-clinical subjects such as biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, pathology, forensic medicine including toxicology and pharmacology. The students simultaneously obtain hands-on training in the wards and out-patient departments, where they interact with real patients for five years. The curriculum aims to inculcate standard protocols of history taking, examination, differential diagnosis and complete patient Management. The student is taught to determine what investigations will be useful for a patient and what are the best treatment options. The curriculum also contains a thorough practical knowledge and practice of performing standard clinical procedures. The course also contains a 12-month-long internship, in which an intern is rotated across various specialties. Besides standard clinical care, one also gets a thorough experience of ward management, staff management, and thorough counselling skills.
